"He is a fool to leave things close at hand to follow what is out of reach." Plutarch
Find an empty shoebox and cut a small hole in the top. Every day write down something good in your life on a piece of paper and put the paper in the box. Then, whenever you're starting to feel discontented, take a look inside your "blessings box" and remember what you have to be thankful for.
What better time of the year to look at all the blessings in our lives than the Holidays.
Life can be chaotic and time goes by so fast, it's so easy to forget the small precious things in our lives. We're always looking to a bigger picture, a goal in the future or something we want that we don't have yet, and we tend to forget or neglect the wonderful things that we have right here and now.
Take some steps and allow yourself to enjoy the here and know. Look around you and see this wonderful thing we call life for all it is worth. For all it's glory. Today counts just as much as tomorrow.
When you're feeling down or things look rough up ahead, remember that you can always pick yourself up and start fresh....remember the little things.....friendship, love, family, shelter, contentment, knowledge, God. There is always somewhere to go or something to do. You are never alone.
How can you make your day more special?
After a hectic week of running around. Today I will slow down and enjoy time with my family. I will watch and be amazed as they learn about their world and history and science as we go to the MD Science Center. I will enjoy this beautiful day. Listen and watch the boats on the harbor, the people that surround me, and the many things to see and do at the Science Center. I'm sure that I too will learn something new and exciting on our adventure today. I always do.
